USA Freediving’s Enchante Gallardo Breaks North American Continental Record in Constant Weight

Limassol, Cyprus — September 22, 2026

USA Freediving athlete Enchante Gallardo added another milestone to her historic 2026 season, breaking the North American Continental Record in Constant Weight (CWT) with a dive to 110 meters / 361 feet during the World Apnea Championships Precompetition in Limassol, Cyprus. Gallardo reached the depth on her second attempt of the competition, improving on her own previous continental mark of 108 meters, set in Nicaragua in September.

Continental Record — 110m Constant Weight

Constant Weight (CWT) is a monofin discipline in which athletes use fin propulsion to descend and ascend along a guide line, without pulling themselves along the rope. Gallardo becomes the seventh woman in history to reach 110 meters in the discipline, and the dive comes just two months after she tied the Free Immersion (FIM) world record at the Asian Freediving Cup in Panglao, Philippines. The record is pending ratification by AIDA.

“It took many years of training, hard work, and determination to reach these depths, which has been a milestone achievement. I faced a lot of challenges along the way, but I am incredibly proud to see that hard work and perseverance pay off. It only motivates me to further challenge my limits in the depths and explore our human potential.” said Enchante Gallardo.

“I couldn’t be more proud to witness Enchante breaking the 110m barrier. There is so much training that goes into an achievement like this, and it is inspiring to watch all her discipline and training come full circle with this record.” said Brad Stephens, USA Freediving Treasurer and athlete.

Leadership Recognition

“Enchante Gallardo’s 110-meter CWT dive is an extraordinary accomplishment and a powerful statement of her ability, determination, and commitment to the sport. Setting a Women’s Continental Record at this depth requires not only exceptional physical and mental preparation, but the courage and confidence to execute when it matters most. On behalf of USA Freediving, I am incredibly proud to congratulate Enchante on this remarkable achievement and on representing the United States at the highest level of competitive freediving.” said Francesca Koe, President, USA Freediving.
